About the Job: The Litigation Paralegal supports our Personal Injury, Civil Rights, and Commercial Litigation practice groups. As a key member of the litigation team, you will work closely with attorneys, clients, and external parties to manage cases effectively from inception to resolution. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and proactive, with a strong ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.

  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including summons, complaints, affidavits, notices of motion, and other pleadings.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files, ensuring accessibility and compliance with firm protocols.
  • Assist with discovery requests and responses, working closely with clients to obtain and prepare responsive materials.
  • Collect, organize, and manage medical records, billing statements, and related documents, including preparing necessary authorizations.
  • Conduct legal and factual research using tools like Westlaw and other resources to support case strategies.
  • Identify and engage potential experts, facilitate the exchange of case materials, and coordinate expert schedules.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including preparing trial notebooks, scheduling, jury research, subpoena preparation, and other pre-trial logistics.
  • Prepare deposition materials, including exhibits and summaries, and provide logistical support as needed.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients, addressing inquiries, managing case budgets, and providing updates on case progress.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in paralegal studies or a related field is preferred. Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in litigation. Experience with personal injury, civil rights, or commercial litigation, is preferred.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools like Westlaw, e-filing systems for state and federal courts, and case management software. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), are essential. Familiarity with medical records, billing, and related documentation, as well as knowledge of litigation processes, discovery procedures, and trial preparation, is required.
  • We are looking for candidates with excellent organizational and time-management skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 


Job Status: Primarily on-site in Buffalo, NY. Hybrid flexibility is available, 1 day per week.


Compensation: $24 - 33/hour
