Centennial is partnering with a privately held, well-established manufacturer and international distributor to recruit a strategic, hands-on Chief Financial Officer to lead the company into its next phase of growth. This is a highly visible role with direct access to the President and Board, offering the opportunity to modernize financial systems, optimize profitability, and lead a talented finance team during a time of transition and opportunity.
The ideal candidate will bring both strategic insight and operational discipline—able to navigate complex cost environments, drive process improvements, and strengthen the company’s financial foundation. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will oversee the full spectrum of financial operations—from long-term planning to day-to-day execution—helping to position the business for sustainable success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead Strategic Financial Direction
- Guide the company’s financial planning and long-term growth strategies.
- Advise the President and Board on key performance metrics, capital structure, and investment decisions.
- Drive financial analysis for acquisitions, pricing models, due diligence, and integration planning.
- Support board reporting and shareholder relations, including dividends, stock transactions, and confidential financial matters.
- Provide pricing strategy and financial modeling support for new product development, margin analysis, and program-specific initiatives.
Modernize and Lead Financial Operations
- Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Improve monthly visibility and accuracy of cost of goods sold (COGS), labor, and inventory valuation.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and evolving standards, including lease accounting and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with IT to enhance ERP systems, automate workflows, and ensure cybersecurity and PCI compliance.
- Guide implementation of tax strategies including IC-DISC, R&D credits, and ACA reporting.
Champion Operational Excellence
- Lead treasury, banking, tax, credit and collections, AP/AR, payroll, and insurance oversight.
- Drive physical inventory audits, cycle counting, and variance analysis across operations.
- Manage federal and state tax compliance, 5500s, and external audits for financials, 401(k), and health plans.
- Develop data-driven reporting tools to monitor cost efficiency, productivity, and margin trends across departments.
Inspire and Develop the Finance Team
- Lead a high-functioning, multi-disciplinary finance team including payroll, AP/AR, credit, cost accounting, and general accounting.
- Provide mentorship and strategic support during a leadership transition, including the retirement of the current Controller and onboarding of their successor.
- Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Manage Banking, Investments, and Shareholder Relations
- Oversee banking operations, credit facilities, and daily cash management.
- Manage short- and long-term investment portfolios and reporting for lending institutions.
- Coordinate shareholder communications, including dividends, stock tracking, and board reporting.
- Lead annual capital investment planning and post-investment performance tracking for major facilities, equipment, and logistics strategies.
Benefits Oversight and Risk Management
- Partner with benefits advisors to manage 401(k), health, and insurance programs
- Lead annual plan reviews, compliance testing, and cost modeling to optimize employee benefit offerings.
- Oversee internal and external insurance relationships, including risk assessment and policy performance.
External Engagement and Special Initiatives
- Represent the company in financial presentations at dealer meetings or partner events.
- Support initiatives such as charitable contributions, solar credit renewals, or external reporting obligations (e.g., D&B, BBB).
QUALIFICATIONS
- CPA certification (prefered)
- 10+ years in senior financial leadership roles, including manufacturing experience
- Deep expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, tax strategy, and financial operations
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence at all organizational levels
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Experience with ERP systems and legacy financial platforms
- Background working in privately held or family-owned businesses
