- The Human Resources Analyst III (Classification & Compensation) will provide analytical, technical, and reporting support for ongoing classification and compensation studies. This role focuses on data management, report development, and coordination of classification & compensation materials. The position operates at the journey level, requiring independent judgment, analytical acumen, and the ability to interpret and adapt HR policies and guidelines to complex or specialized projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Classification & Compensation Support:
- Build and maintain classification and compensation matrices and reports. Conduct trend and variance analyses comparing internal pay data with market benchmarks and support large-scale compensation studies.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Develop pivot-based and dynamic Excel reports; prepare ad hoc reports and visualizations that summarize job, pay, and survey data.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality of HR datasets.
Project Coordination:
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement methods to streamline workflows, optimize data integrity, and improve HR analytics reporting.
Functional Competencies
- Strong analytical, organizational, and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret classification and compensation concepts and apply them to HR systems and data.
- Experience supporting HR projects involving compensation studies or job analysis is highly desired.
Required Skillset - Advanced Excel & Data Analysis Proficiency
- Mastery of formulas and functions: VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, IF/IFS, SUMIF(S), COUNTIF(S), and text functions.
- Strong experience with PivotTables, Power Query, and Power Pivot.
- Ability to design dynamic reporting tools using modern Excel functions (UNIQUE, FILTER, SORT).
- Data validation, conditional formatting, and protection/sharing for report integrity.
- (Optional) VBA/Macro automation for repetitive tasks.
- Access Database knowledge a plus.
Experience Below:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, and (4) yrs. of relevant experience.
- Classification and compensation experience
- Reporting and analysis experience
- Advanced excel and data analysis proficiency
- Maintains confidentiality
- Personable, Flexible, Multitask and Handles pressure well.
- Professional, organized with strong written and verbal communication skills a must.
The hiring range for this position is $50.54 to $56.37/per hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity, and may also vary depending on candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience amongst other factors.
