Description:

  • The Accountant will independently perform professional accounting work, including preparing and analyzing accounting transactions, reconciling accounts, maintaining financial records, and assisting with financial reporting and audit activities.  
  • The Accountant has a min of 3years experience and is familiar with Oracle to handle high-volume workload with accuracy and who can research transactions, identify discrepancies, and resolve or recommend solutions to accounting issues would be a great fit for this position.


Required Knowledge of: 

  • Accounting concepts, principles, and practices, including rules and regulations issued by the appropriate governing bodies; enterprise accounting software; and current office technology and equipment. 


Required Skills and Abilities to: 

  • Use enterprise accounting systems; use independent judgment and exercise discretion; problem solve; prioritize and multi-task; communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; work independently and in a team environment; and operate current office equipment including computers and supporting applications.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare journal entries, cost transfers, and other accounting transactions.
  • Perform account reconciliations and analyze differences between subsidiary systems and the general ledger. 
  • Research transactions, identify discrepancies, and resolve or recommend solutions to accounting issues.
  • Gather, analyze, and validate accounting data and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare financial schedules and reports (i.e. ACFR) for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare various month-end journals, reconciliations, documentation “work papers”, and create concise reports.
  • Process accounts receivable transactions, including preparing invoices, recording receipts, and monitoring outstanding balances.
  • Process and track payment requests and provide status updates on key payments.
  • Maintain accounting and supporting records, including property ownership and escrow documentation, as assigned.
  • Respond to accounting-related questions from staff, departments, and external parties. 
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve accounting and transaction-processing issues. 
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, gathering supporting documentation, and responding to information requests.
  • Process Delta Conveyance Authority invoice payments and maintains subsidiary ledgers for this trust account. Serves as a liaison between the Company and the external auditors during audit period.
  • Maintains operating equipment subsidiary ledgers
  • Monitors e-vehicles purchase transactions and maintain operating equipment subsidiary ledgers.

 

Experience Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with an emphasis on accounting from an accredited college or university and two years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience equaling six years.
  • Excel (expert). 
  • Oracle experience is a plus.
  • Personable, Team Player, Flexible, Multitask and handles pressure well.
  • Detail orient, Organized, Strong Written and Verbal Communication skills a must.
  • Local Candidates (Southern California).



The hiring range for this position is $ $45.37 - $54.05 hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity, and may also vary depending on candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience amongst other factors
