Position Summary:
- We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controls/IT Engineer to support and deliver Process Control Network (PCN) and Operational Technology (OT) network services to our industrial facilities.
- This role acts as a critical liaison between Operations, IT product lines, and engineering teams to identify opportunities, deliver consulting services, and ensure the successful design, deployment, and support of secure and reliable OT network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide PCN/OT network site services to internal customers, ensuring alignment with operational and cybersecurity standards.
- Act as a bridge between Operations and IT to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Design, configure, deploy, and maintain OT network and transport technologies (e.g., switches, routers, firewalls, wireless, fiber, copper).
- Lead or support the engineering and implementation of industrial network infrastructure projects.
- Ensure continuous availability and performance of OT network services through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement and maintain secure network architectures.
- Support incident response and root cause analysis for network-related issues in OT environments.
- Maintain documentation for network designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in OT networking and cybersecurity.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in OT/industrial networking, preferably in oil & gas, energy, or manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of PCN/OT network architectures, protocols, and standards (e.g., ISA-95, Purdue Model).
- Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices (Cisco, Hirschmann, etc.).
- Experience with Layer 2/3 networking, VLANs, routing, NAT, ACLs, and QoS.
- Familiarity with industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC, DNP3, PROFINET, etc.).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and standards (e.g., NIST, IEC 62443) as applied to OT environments.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, SNMP).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) or equivalent.
- Experience with Field Area Networks (FAN), SCADA, and DCS systems.
- Familiarity with virtualization, remote access solutions, and secure remote connectivity in OT environments.
- Experience with change management and compliance in regulated industries.
The hiring range for this position is $65.00 to $80.00 per hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity, and may also vary depending on candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience amongst other factors.
