Network Engineer
Location: Onsite in Central Florida
Engenium working in partnership with our MS&T client are looking for a mid-to-senior level Network Engineer to help design, build, and support secure enterprise data-center networks. This role mixes hands-on technical work with collaboration across teams. You’ll set up and maintain core systems, ensure everything runs smoothly, and guide others with your expertise.
What You’ll Do
- Install, configure, and support data-center hardware and software.
- Design and manage core services like DNS, directory/authentication, and certificates.
- Work with modern network designs (SDN, micro-segmentation, hybrid cloud).
- Deploy and support virtualization platforms across multiple sites.
- Write and maintain scripts to automate tasks and generate reports.
- Apply change control and configuration standards to all systems.
- Troubleshoot real-world issues and implement reliable fixes.
- Monitor system health and ensure uptime for servers, networks, and applications.
- Provide advanced support for virtual infrastructure and networking.
- Collaborate with software, integration, and test teams to keep projects moving.
- Mentor junior engineers and share best practices.
Nice-to-Have Extras
- Help maintain a secure lab/testing environment.
- Document fixes, write runbooks, and support security scans.
- Keep endpoint security tools and antivirus systems current.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience with virtualization and cloud platforms in Linux environments.
- Strong background with enterprise hypervisors and container platforms.
- Scripting skills (able to write, test, and maintain automation).
- Good knowledge of configuration management, backups, and version control.
- Ability to analyze system logs and turn data into clear reports.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with servers, networks, and peripherals.
- Excellent communication skills — able to explain technical details simply and mentor others.
- Team player who can also work independently.
Bonus Skills
- Deep knowledge of networking: TCP/IP, routing (BGP/OSPF), VLANs, firewalls, NAT, ACLs, multicast, and QoS.
- Familiarity with federal security standards (NIST or equivalent).
- Experience supporting teammates through certifications or training.
Education & Experience
- Around 5+ years of related experience preferred (open to strong candidates with less).
- Security-related certification required (e.g., Security+). Additional certs a plus.
