CAD Drafter (Part-Time 20 - 30hrs)

Engenium working in partnership is seeking a CAD Drafter to support the design and production of advanced training and simulation systems. This role begins as a part-time contract position (20–30 hours per week) with a strong likelihood of conversion to a longer-term or permanent role.

You will create and revise detailed mechanical drawings using Autodesk Inventor, working closely with engineers to support prototype development, production, and customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Create 2D and 3D CAD drawings for mechanical components, assemblies, and enclosures using Autodesk Inventor.
• Translate engineering concepts into production-ready drawings and documentation.
• Revise and update designs to incorporate engineering changes and customer requirements.
• Support manufacturing and assembly teams by resolving drawing/documentation issues.
• Assist with prototypes, design reviews, and customer-facing presentations.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor CAD software.
• Experience producing detailed mechanical drawings and assemblies.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple design projects.
• Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or equivalent experience.
• US Citizenship required; must be able to pass background checks and qualify for government security clearance.

Nice to Have

• Experience with VR/AR hardware, simulation equipment, or defense-related projects.
• Familiarity with other CAD/3D tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (CNC, sheet metal, wiring).
