Our client is hiring several Heavy Duty and Commercial Truck & Transport Mechanics to work on above-ground mining equipment. You get 182 days off per year before Vacation.

About the Company
Our client operates one of Canada's largest open-pit copper mines — a long-established operation running a modern fleet that includes autonomous haul trucks. They supply copper to customers around the world and are known for strong safety standards, stable union careers, and investing in their people through training and dealer technical support.
The Career
You'll be part of the mobile maintenance team keeping a large off-road mining fleet running safely, 24/7. Your work ranges from preventative maintenance to major breakdown repairs: diagnosing and troubleshooting complex systems and rebuilding major components such as engines, transmissions, and cooling systems. The fleet includes autonomous and conventional CAT haul trucks, dozers, graders, loaders, shovels, and drills, from brands like CAT, Komatsu, P&H, Letourneau, and Hitachi. Mining experience is a bonus, not a requirement — full training is provided.

Pay & Premiums
- $56.61/hr journeyperson rate (approx. $124,000/year based on a 4x4 rotation, before overtime and premiums)
- $0.75/hr continuous-schedule (4x4) premium on all hours worked
- $1.85/hr weekend premium (Sat 8:00 AM – Mon 8:00 AM)
- Overtime at 1.5x and 2x; call-outs paid at 3 hours minimum at 2x
- Bank up to 48 hours of overtime per year for paid time off or cash
- Paid meal breaks (and a hot meal or $15) on extended overtime
- Tool allowance of 0.75–0.85/hr plus tool and toolbox replacement
- $200/year boot allowance
- Extra pay for First Aid Level III (0.35/hr),ERT(0.50/hr), and Trainers ($1.00/hr)
Time Off
- Vacation pay of 4% to 12%, plus a $1.50/hr premium on vacation hours taken
- 120 hours of special vacation every 5 years (after 5 years of service)
- 182 days off per year built into the 4x4 rotation, before using vacation and banked OT
