Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and management reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Perform financial and variance analysis to identify trends, explain results, and support business decisions.
- Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly and annual close processes.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure transactions are processed accurately and timely.
- Assist with tax-related activities and coordinate with external advisors as needed.
- Support external audits and other financial reporting requirements.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
- Provide guidance and support to accounting team members, including training and development.
- Help establish and improve accounting policies, procedures, and processes.
- Monitor cash flow and assist with maintaining appropriate liquidity.
- Stay current on accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in periodic financial reviews and communicate financial results to management.
- Assist with preparation of recurring financial reporting packages for leadership.
- Support special projects and other initiatives as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate financial processes through technology, reporting tools, and advanced spreadsheet capabilities.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements designed to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Several years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
- Experience working with an ERP or accounting system and strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Exposure to financial reporting, analysis, and process automation tools is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general financial reporting principles.
- Knowledge of tax and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with accounting team members.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling financial information.
