Senior Accountant

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and management reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Perform financial and variance analysis to identify trends, explain results, and support business decisions.
  • Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly and annual close processes.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Assist with tax-related activities and coordinate with external advisors as needed.
  • Support external audits and other financial reporting requirements.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
  • Provide guidance and support to accounting team members, including training and development.
  • Help establish and improve accounting policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Monitor cash flow and assist with maintaining appropriate liquidity.
  • Stay current on accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in periodic financial reviews and communicate financial results to management.
  • Assist with preparation of recurring financial reporting packages for leadership.
  • Support special projects and other initiatives as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate financial processes through technology, reporting tools, and advanced spreadsheet capabilities.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements designed to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Several years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
  • Experience working with an ERP or accounting system and strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Exposure to financial reporting, analysis, and process automation tools is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general financial reporting principles.
  • Knowledge of tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with accounting team members.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling financial information.
