Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and presentation of monthly and annual financial reporting, including profit & loss statements by location and forecast-to-budget analysis.
  • Evaluate the firm’s financial performance against operational goals, budgets, and forecasts, providing actionable insights and recommendations to support both short- and long-term growth strategies.
  • Manage financial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, including detailed analysis of target company financials, key performance indicators, and risk exposure.
  • Direct and oversee the accounting department to ensure the integrity and efficiency of all financial systems, databases, and software, including system maintenance and data backup.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and filing of all local, state, and federal tax returns.
  • Lead the month-end close process, continuously improving procedures and driving efficiency.
  • Oversee cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning to ensure adequate funding for operations.
  • Maintain strong banking relationships and strategic partnerships with key vendors and business partners.
  • Supervise weekly cash management and Accounts Payable operations, including approval of significant disbursements, check signing, and authorization of large wires and ACH transactions.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable and provide strategic guidance on collections and cash recovery efforts.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a Controller capacity
  • Advanced expertise with QuickBooks Online
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Proven leadership ability with strong executive presence and the ability to motivate and develop teams
  • Superior analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Extensive experience working with external auditors, internal controls, and compliance requirements
