Financial Analyst

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance and CFO, the Financial/Operations Analyst will support key functions including monthly financial analysis, daily cash management, and annual forecasting. The role will also involve contributing to various ad hoc projects and analyses that support broader departmental and organizational goals. This hybrid position requires 2–3 days per week in the office at the firm’s headquarters in Fairfield County, CT. The Analyst will receive clear direction and oversight from the Director and CFO for all key responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis

  • Contribute to enhancing the firm’s reporting and forecasting models for improved accuracy and faster delivery
  • Evaluate prospective investment opportunities with a focus on collateral composition and potential returns
  • Conduct trial balance and general ledger analysis during monthly and quarterly closes
  • Develop detailed reporting packages for senior leadership covering key P&L line items (e.g., interest and fees, advertising, travel, and entertainment)
  • Assist the Director of Finance in preparing for the annual audit

Daily Cash & Expense Management

  • Perform daily reconciliations of bank accounts and highlight notable transactions for the finance team
  • Support the management of the company’s borrowing base and senior debt facility
  • Coordinate with collateral analysts to forecast weekly funding needs and manage cash planning

Forecasting

  • Assist with financial forecasting processes on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Collaborate across departments to understand operational drivers and identify financial risks and opportunities
  • Support the budgeting process through detailed expense and revenue analysis by department and client

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 0–2 years of experience in Accounting or Corporate Finance
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and Index Match) and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task, solve problems, and succeed in a fast-paced environment
