Trust & Estate Tax Manager / Director

We are partnering with a well-established public accounting firm seeking an experienced Trust & Estate Tax Manager or Director to lead and grow its fiduciary tax practice. This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned tax professional who enjoys working closely with high-net-worth individuals, families, fiduciaries, and business owners while mentoring staff and contributing to the firm's continued growth. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and review of complex fiduciary, estate, gift, and individual income tax returns.
  • Provide technical guidance on trust, estate, and tax planning matters.
  • Advise clients and internal teams on estate and trust administration, probate matters, and fiduciary accounting.
  • Research federal and state tax issues and develop practical solutions for clients.
  • Respond to IRS and state tax agency notices and assist with audits or tax examinations when necessary.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships while serving as a trusted advisor.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop tax professionals, ensuring quality work and timely project completion.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance client service.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of public accounting experience with a strong concentration in trust and estate taxation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; Master's degree is a plus.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Strong understanding of fiduciary tax law, estate planning, and trust administration.
  • Experience using professional tax software and accounting systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple deadlines.
