Accounts Payable Manager

A growing, well-established organization is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to oversee day-to-day AP operations and support a high-volume, fast-paced finance team. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments while helping manage the overall procure-to-pay process.

The Accounts Payable Manager will supervise members of the AP team and partner closely with Procurement, Treasury, Accounting, and other internal departments. This role reports to the senior finance leadership responsible for accounts payable operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Accounts Payable operations including invoice processing, approvals, and vendor payments

• Supervise and support members of the AP team, helping prioritize workloads and meet processing deadlines

• Manage recurring vendor payments including leases, utilities, consultants, and other corporate expenses

• Act as a key point of contact for vendor inquiries and internal questions related to payments and invoices

• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and vendor account concerns

• Perform vendor statement reconciliations and resolve differences between vendor and internal records

• Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable

• Support the annual 1099 reporting process

• Maintain organized documentation and records for AP transactions

• Assist with internal and external audit requests by providing supporting documentation

• Identify opportunities to improve AP workflows, procedures, and internal controls

• Participate in special projects and initiatives within the finance team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 7+ years of Accounts Payable experience, including some team leadership or supervisory responsibilities

• Strong understanding of procure-to-pay processes and vendor payment operations

• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments

• Experience working in a mid-sized or large corporate environment

• Experience with ERP systems required

• Strong Excel skills
