Senior Financial Analyst

We are working with an established and growing organization seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join its finance team. This is a highly visible role offering a mix of FP&A, financial reporting, data analytics, accounting support, and process improvement.

The ideal candidate will have strong financial analysis experience along with enough accounting knowledge to comfortably support month-end close and partner closely with the accounting organization. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys analyzing the business but also wants exposure to systems, automation, and operational improvement.

The position reports to an experienced FP&A leader and will have significant individual ownership while partnering with finance, accounting, operations, and business leadership.

Responsibilities

• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
• Analyze monthly financial results and identify key variances to budget, forecast, and prior-year results.
• Prepare financial reporting packages and provide commentary around business performance, risks, trends, and opportunities.
• Develop financial models and perform ad hoc analysis supporting business initiatives, pricing, investments, and cost optimization.
• Partner with business leaders to provide financial insight and support data-driven decision-making.
• Prepare executive-level PowerPoint presentations and financial communications for senior leadership.
• Work with large datasets to identify trends and provide meaningful business insights.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Assist with balance sheet reviews and other accounting-related activities.
• Partner closely with accounting to resolve reporting issues and improve financial processes.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate manual finance and accounting processes.
• Participate in financial systems, reporting, business intelligence, and automation initiatives.
• Support acquisition and integration-related analysis and reporting as needed.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests.
• Participate in special projects and other financial analysis as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial analysis, corporate finance, accounting, or a combination of these areas.
• Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and month-end close processes.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, complex formulas, lookups, and data analysis.
• Experience working with ERP, financial planning, reporting, or business intelligence systems.
• Strong PowerPoint skills with the ability to develop executive-level presentations.
• Ability to retrieve, manipulate, and analyze data from multiple systems.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of projects and deliverables.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience within a large or complex corporate environment.
• Exposure to manufacturing or other operationally focused businesses.
• Experience with process automation, RPA, business intelligence, or financial systems optimization.
• Experience supporting acquisitions or business integrations.
• CPA, CMA, MBA, or progress toward an advanced degree is a plus.
