Corporate Development & Strategic Finance Associate

Location: Fairfield County, CT / New York Metro Area (Onsite)


About the Opportunity

Our client is a rapidly growing financial services organization seeking a high-potential Corporate Development & Strategic Finance Associate to work directly with executive leadership on acquisitions, capital markets initiatives, financial planning, and strategic decision-making.

This role offers exceptional visibility across the organization and provides direct exposure to senior executives, investors, lenders, and acquisition targets. The position is ideal for someone looking to leverage investment banking or private equity experience in a highly entrepreneurial environment where they can make a meaningful impact on business growth and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support acquisition and strategic investment initiatives, including financial modeling, valuation analysis, due diligence, and transaction execution
  • Assist with debt and equity financing activities, including lender and investor presentations, financial analyses, and capital structure evaluation
  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes, partnering with leadership to develop key assumptions and strategic plans
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and performance analyses for executive leadership and investors
  • Develop board-level presentations and materials to support strategic decision-making
  • Evaluate business performance, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to senior management
  • Partner with leadership on special projects, growth initiatives, and long-term strategic planning

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, corporate development, or related experience
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills
  • Experience supporting mergers & acquisitions, capital raising activities, or strategic finance initiatives
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail

Technical Skills

  • Advanced financial modeling and valuation experience
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience with financial databases and market research tools preferred
