Summary:
The Payroll Analyst will support the Director of Payroll in running multiple payrolls, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. In addition, they will be a key member in implementing and managing ADP payroll processes and serve as a strategic partner in developing progressive payroll solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions; maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures
- Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies
- Processes off-cycle and manual checks when needed
- Conducts regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems
- Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
- Assists in identifying inefficiencies in payroll workflows and recommends automation or process enhancements
- Updates and reconciles statements from ADP
- Documents and maintains standard operating procedures (SOPs) for payroll processes
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:

- Base knowledge of applicable federal and state HR/payroll laws (FMLA, FLSA, etc.) and IRS regulations
- Skilled in payroll systems and databases; willingness to learn new technologies
- Excellent written and organizational skills; ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
- Strong processing skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Strong verbal skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and explain payroll concepts to non-payroll staff

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required
- Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience
- ADP Workforce Now experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of HRIS systems and databases
- Experience migrating or implementing payroll software
- Prior experience with multi-state payroll, including California, is a plus
- Quarterly and annual payroll tax reporting and reconciliation experience
