Tax Director – Georgetown, CT ($150K–$200K + Bonus)

Role Overview

You’ll take ownership of a broad tax portfolio, guide complex engagements, and serve as a strategic advisor to high-net-worth individuals and business clients. This position requires strong technical experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and oversee complex tax returns—individual, corporate, partnership, trust, estate, and gift
• Lead tax planning and advisory work for high-net-worth clients
• Conduct tax research and present clear recommendations to clients and internal leadership
• Manage client relationships and ensure high-quality service across all engagements
• Draft and review responses to federal and state tax authority notices
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals

Qualifications

• 7+ years of tax experience within public accounting
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting; CPA preferred
• Experience with CCH software a plus
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Proven leadership, mentoring, and team-management skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to quality work
• Positive, collaborative, and professional demeanor
