Accounting Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
  • Perform financial and variance analysis to assess performance and support business planning and decision making
  • Oversee general ledger activity, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month end and year end close processes
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to ensure timely invoicing, payments, and collections
  • Ensure compliance with applicable tax requirements, coordinating filings and working with external tax advisors as needed
  • Lead and manage external audit processes, ensuring financial records are complete, accurate, and audit ready
  • Design, implement, and maintain internal controls to protect company assets and ensure reliable financial reporting
  • Lead, develop, and mentor accounting staff, including hiring, training, and performance management
  • Establish and refine accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency, consistency, and compliance
  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs and strategic initiatives
  • Stay current on evolving accounting standards and ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Lead monthly financial reviews with operational stakeholders, interpreting results and explaining key drivers
  • Support preparation of monthly reporting packages for senior leadership
  • Assist with corporate reporting needs and respond to audit and regulatory requests
  • Maintain clear documentation of policies, procedures, and assigned areas of responsibility
  • Contribute to departmental and organizational special projects as needed
  • Drive initiatives to streamline financial workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve overall efficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; advanced degree or professional certification such as CPA or CA preferred
  • Several years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for managing or supervising others
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting requirements, and relevant tax regulations
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Strong communication skills, capable of explaining financial information to non finance partners
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide, motivate, and develop team members
  • Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and high ethical standards when handling sensitive information
