Controller (Commercial Finance)

Overview

The Controller will serve as a key financial leader supporting commercial operations, combining core controllership responsibilities with strategic finance partnership. This role is responsible for ensuring financial integrity, delivering accurate reporting, and providing actionable insights to drive business performance, profitability, and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial oversight of commercial operations, including products, contracts, and customer programs
  • Own and manage financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with corporate and regulatory standards
  • Translate financial results into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership
  • Support business decision-making through financial modeling, scenario analysis, and investment evaluation
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes
  • Analyze financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with US GAAP and audit requirements
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure audit readiness
  • Partner cross-functionally with commercial, operations, underwriting, and procurement teams
  • Manage working capital, including cash flow forecasting and balance sheet optimization
  • Drive process improvements across financial reporting, systems, and operational efficiency
  • Monitor and optimize cost structures, margins, and overall financial performance

  • Commercial P&L performance and margin analysis
  • Financial reporting accuracy and integrity
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Working capital and cash flow management
  • Internal controls, compliance, and audit coordination

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, controllership, FP&A, or commercial finance
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, and internal controls
  • Experience supporting business strategy and commercial decision-making
  • Background in a large or complex organization preferred
  • Experience in a global or multinational environment is a plus
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial systems

Education
