Director, Finance Operations (Accounts Payable, Payroll & Sales Accounting)
Location: Onsite in Connecticut
We’re seeking an experienced Finance Operations leader to oversee Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Commercial Sales Accounting across North America. This role will play a critical part in shaping strategy, driving process excellence, and ensuring high-quality service delivery to internal stakeholders. The position reports into senior finance leadership and manages both retained teams and third-party provider relationships.
What You’ll Do

Lead Shared Services Teams: Oversee Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Commercial Sales Accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous process improvement.

Strategic Ownership: Set the vision and direction for accounts payable processes across the Americas finance organization, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and alignment with corporate objectives.

Business Partner Experience: Act as a key liaison for internal stakeholders, driving improvements to enhance the “customer experience.”

Process & Systems Optimization: Collaborate with procurement and finance systems teams to improve requisition, purchase order, and vendor master processes.

Leadership & Team Development: Manage and develop team members, building capabilities and fostering a culture of growth and continuous improvement.

Change Leadership: Align with leadership to identify opportunities, build business cases for transformation, and execute against roadmaps that support organizational goals.
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance operations.
- Proven experience managing shared service centers in a large corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of finance systems (JD Edwards highly preferred).
- Track record of success managing operational finance teams across multiple functions.
- Excellent program/project management skills and ability to drive large-scale change.
- Executive communication and relationship management skills.
- Growth mindset with a focus on adaptability, transparency, and continuous learning.
- Advanced computer skills (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Willingness to travel up to 15%.
