Job/Practice Description: Psychiatric NP, Child & Adolescent

  • Part-time, 10–16 hours per week, with flexible scheduling
  • Evaluate and treat patients under 18, providing psychiatric assessment, care, and health education
  • Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, using evidence-based medicine
  • Provide consultation to nurses triaging walk-in or call-in patients
  • Manage and follow up on patients through EMR
  • Maintain continuity of care across referrals, ER visits, and specialty/inpatient services
  • Refer patients for specialty services in consultation with an MD
  • Participate in continuing education and annual performance evaluations
  • Educate patients and families on mental health, medications, and treatment plans
  • Collaborate with behavioral health clinicians on medication management referrals and follow-ups
  • Productivity standard: 90% clinical time, 10% case management; 7–8 patients per 4-hour session


Requirements:

  • Active Massachusetts license to practice psychiatry
  • Active PMHNP board certification
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children and adolescents
  • Prior ambulatory experience preferred
