Job Title: Construction Superintendent

 

Location: Northern New Jersey

 

Company Overview: We are a well-established Construction Management (CM) firm in Northern New Jersey, specializing in ground-up and renovation projects across various commercial sectors, including retail, hospitality, schools, warehouses, healthcare, historical restorations, and industrial. Position Overview: Our client is seeking a seasoned Construction Superintendent with a minimum of 10 years of on-site experience managing commercial construction projects ranging from $1 million to $15 million.  The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in ground-up construction and renovations in New Jersey. The client is NOT interested in superintendents with experience limited to New York City or those with experience in high-rise construction. The ideal candidate has proven Superintendent experience in New Jersey.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and oversee project schedules to ensure timely completion.​
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Manage and supervise subcontractors to ensure adherence to project plans, schedules, and quality standards.​
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety policies to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.​
  • Quality Control: Implement and oversee quality control procedures to ensure all work meets or exceeds project specifications and standards.​
  • Cost Management: Monitor project costs, identify potential overruns, and implement corrective actions to maintain budget integrity.​

 

Qualifications:

 

Experience: At least 10 years of experience as an on-site superintendent on commercial construction projects valued between $1 million and $15 million.​

 

Project Expertise: Demonstrated experience in ground-up construction and renovation projects within New Jersey.​

 

Technical Skills: Proficiency in CMiC or Procore construction management software is required.​

 

Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification is mandatory; additional safety certifications are a plus.​

 

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.​
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.​
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.​
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.​
  • Must be able to utilize software technology effectively
  • Proficiency in CMiC or Procore construction management software is essential.​
