About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead a major project in Philadelphia. The project is a detention center for ICE — please note this detail, as it may not be suitable for all candidates.


This role is best suited for candidates with experience in multi-family or hotel construction who are confident in managing 100+ technicians on-site in a high-pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate all construction activities to deliver the project on time and within budget.
  • Supervise and manage on-site operations, including subcontractors, vendors, and a large workforce of technicians.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Enforce strict safety protocols and hold contractors accountable for their teams.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • Review blueprints and specifications to anticipate and resolve potential issues.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance.
  • Provide leadership, resolve conflicts, and support construction teams as challenges arise.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.
  • Ensure all activities adhere to company policies and procedures.


Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of proven experience as a Superintendent or similar role, ideally on multi-family, hotel, or comparable projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency with construction management software (Procore preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schedules, and technical documents.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Ability to oversee large workforces and maintain organization in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to anticipate issues proactively.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and construction estimating for change orders.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and timely delivery of projects.
