Operations Supervisor
Reports To: Warehouse Manager
Shift: 1st Shift
Team Size: Approximately 10 employees
Position Summary
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading first-shift warehouse operations with a primary focus on receiving and inventory control. This role will supervise approximately 10 hourly associates and ensure inbound product is received accurately, inventory is properly maintained, and daily operational goals are achieved safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily receiving and inventory control activities.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 10 warehouse associates.
- Ensure inbound shipments are received, verified, and processed accurately and on time.
- Oversee inventory accuracy and support regular cycle counting activities, typically 2–3 cycle counts maximum.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and work with the Warehouse Manager to implement corrective actions.
- Monitor daily workflow and adjust labor as needed to meet operational priorities.
- Maintain compliance with warehouse safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
- Track basic operational KPIs related to receiving, inventory accuracy, productivity, and quality.
- Partner with the Warehouse Manager and other operational teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience required.
- Prior experience leading or supervising warehouse employees preferred.
- Experience with receiving and inventory control processes.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead from the warehouse floor and work effectively with hourly associates and management.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and operational reporting preferred.
