The Plant Manager will be responsible for leading all aspects of operations at a newly acquired, MSHA regulated chemical manufacturing facility with approximately 50 employees. In this "start-up" environment, the Plant Manager will drive the implementation of safety, production, and operational processes to ensure compliance with MSHA regulations, while maximizing efficiency and output. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Plant Manager will oversee production, maintenance, quality control, and workforce management, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. This role requires strong leadership in building and developing teams, optimizing plant performance, and scaling operations in line with corporate objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Operational Leadership: Develop and execute a robust workforce plan, including scheduling, to optimize production efficiency and output.
• Cost Optimization: Drive improvements in cost-to-produce through process optimization, resource management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure the facility adheres to all MSHA regulations and maintain a culture of safety, emphasizing hazard recognition, risk management, and proactive safety measures.
• System & Process Integration: Lead the integration of the new facility’s systems and processes with those of the legacy plant to ensure seamless operations and data flow.
• Culture Building: Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and execution at all levels, motivating teams to achieve high performance.
• People Leadership: Serve as a strong coach and leader, developing the workforce, mentoring direct reports, and driving a high level of engagement.
• Community Engagement: Act as the primary liaison to local stakeholders, representing the company in community matters and building positive relationships.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to drive production goals and ensure alignment with broader company objectives.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical/Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related discipline required
• MBA or Masters in Engineering Management preferred
• 7+ years of experience in plant operations or manufacturing leadership roles, with experience in greenfield or newly integrated facilities preferred.
• Proven track record in workforce planning, production optimization, and cost reduction.
• Strong knowledge of MSHA regulations, with a focus on non-coal mining facilities.
