The Global Procurement organization is central to sourcing the materials, services, and capital investments that support ongoing operations and future growth.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced leader to guide the capital procurement function. This role will oversee a team of capital buyers and consultants while shaping the capital equipment strategy tied to recent transformational initiatives. The position partners closely with engineering, operations, finance, and project teams to source and manage high-value capital assets. Candidates should bring a minimum of 10 years of capital equipment procurement experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment, along with demonstrated leadership capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of procurement professionals and external consultants.
- Manage the full lifecycle of capital equipment procurement—RFx creation, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contracting.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Project Management to align specifications, schedules, and sourcing requirements.
- Provide cost estimates, lead-time projections, and supplier capability insights to support capital project planning.
- Create and execute sourcing strategies that drive cost savings, quality improvement, and risk reduction.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships; ensure performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor market trends and new technologies to guide sourcing decisions.
- Ensure all activities adhere to corporate policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of people leadership experience.
- At least 10 years of capital equipment procurement in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and proven success working cross-functionally.
Preferred:
- Experience with capital projects in the metals or steel sector.
- Background supporting procurement activities tied to major M&A or integration efforts.
- Knowledge of global sourcing processes and supplier qualification.
