Plant Manager – Manufacturing
Location: Collins, Mississippi
Reports to: President
Compensation: $120,000–$150,000 base + performance bonus
Position Overview
Seeking a Plant Manager to lead its largest manufacturing facility in Collins, MS. This role is
responsible for full plant leadership with a focus on workforce stabilization, execution discipline, and
operational improvement in a high-mix, build-to-spec manufacturing environment. Industry background
is flexible; any manufacturing environment with similar complexity will be considered.
Facility Snapshot
• ~124 employees, single shift (7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.) with mandatory overtime
• Fabrication, welding, paint, assembly, and installation operations
• 15,000–18,000 active SKUs
• 6–8 month backlog (industry-wide condition)
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture
• Lead and develop frontline supervisors
• Implement plant-wide performance reviews
• Stabilize the hourly workforce through fair, firm leadership
• Address morale and cultural issues directly
Operations Management
• Own day-to-day plant execution
• Reduce backlog through improved throughput and planning
• Improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity
Workforce Stabilization
• Reduce 30–60% turnover rate
• Improve probationary success rates
• Partner with HR on hiring welders, fabricators, and machine operators
Systems & Compliance
• Support ERP implementation and adoption
• Ensure compliance with state-specific build requirements
• Improve inventory discipline and accountability
Success Metrics
• Reduced turnover and overtime dependency
• Improved morale and engagement
• Backlog reduction and on-time delivery improvements
