I. Job Summary


Directs all aspects of an organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to the destination.


II. Major Duties and Responsibilities


  • Leads the execution of an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistics network and operations.
  • Oversees critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation functions that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPIs for product delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Establishes governance and quality auditing processes to monitor vendor performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost.
  • Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function.
  • Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets, policies, and procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
  • Complies with the requirements of the company's Quality Management System.


III. Required Skills, Experience, and Education


  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Regulatory knowledge.
  • 5+ years of management experience.
  • 10+ years of related experience.
  • Significant experience working with high-profile, strategic customers, preferably institutions of higher education.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Proficiency in English, including the ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.


IV. Desired Skills, Experience, and Education


  • Extensive experience managing operational customer service teams.
  • Strong strategic and customer focus with a clear understanding of the issues impacting key markets and clients.
  • Profit and Loss (P&L) management experience.
  • Proven management experience in a senior, strategic-level role.
  • Established track record of exceeding targets, KPIs, and SLAs.
  • Ability to interpret data, develop strategy, and make recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and communicate with others at all levels.
  • Ability to build strong relationships.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to adapt and succeed in a changing environment.
  • Evidence of well-developed leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels, up to the President or C-suite.
  • Possesses a learner's mindset.


V. Physical Requirements


  • Ability to remain in a stationary/seated position for an extended period.
  • Regularly required to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and other office machinery.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision due to computer work.
  • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds.
