Currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Atmospheric Sensor Engineer to design, develop, and optimize advanced sensor systems for atmospheric and environmental monitoring.

  • Seeking a Senior Atmospheric Sensor Engineer who will be focusing heavily on micro atmospheric wind sensors, algorithm development, fluid dynamics, and environmental tuning and testing, ensuring high-accuracy data collection and real-world performance.


The Compensation

  • $145K - $180K Competitive Annual Base Salary Plus Stock Option Package and Bonus Plan Commensurate with Experience

The Role

  • Develop and optimize signal processing and data fusion algorithms for atmospheric sensor systems.
  • Implement machine learning techniques for sensor calibration, anomaly detection, and data validation.
  • Enhance real-time data acquisition and processing pipelines for high-precision environmental measurements.
  • Apply computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to model airflows, turbulence, and sensor-environment interactions.
  • Design and validate sensor housings and components to optimize air sampling and minimize measurement biases.
  • Work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate fluid dynamics insights into sensor design.
  • Develop and execute rigorous environmental testing protocols in controlled and field conditions.
  • Analyze sensor performance under extreme temperatures, humidity, pressure, and pollution levels.
  • Utilize wind tunnels, climate chambers, and real-world deployments to validate sensor accuracy and reliability.


The Background Profile

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Atmospheric Science, or related field; Masters Degree a plus
  • Prior experience with micro atmospheric wind sensors, algorithm development, fluid dynamics, and environmental sensor tuning and testing
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or C++ for numerical modeling and data processing
  • Experience with wind tunnel experiments, environmental chambers, and real-world sensor deployments
  • Familiarity with sensor calibration techniques, signal processing, and uncertainty quantification
  • Experience with embedded systems and real-time data processing
  • Knowledge of optical, electrochemical, or Micro-Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS)-based sensing technologies
  • Background in machine learning for sensor data analytics
  • Ability to be based onsite at the headquarters in Camarillo, CA
