Like most innovations, this early-stage, high tech company was born out of frustration, facing the consistent and fundamental challenge of sourcing localized data to make informed decisions in emerging markets. The company's founders and leadership--who have held senior positions in The White House, the U.S. Treasury, the African Development Bank, the Center for Global Development, and the ONE Campaign--are currently seeking a Senior Manager, Growth to manage Account Leadership, Sales, and Communications and increase engagement with U.S. Government (USG) customers with a focus on the Department of Defense (DoD).

The Role

  • Responsible for oversight of Account Leadership, Sales, and Communications.
  • Cultivate and lead an account portfolio for a subset of DoD components and user groups.
  • Work with an account team that includes analysts, solution engineers, and data scientists to shape the company's message and offering for customers and end users.
  • Create a clear and actionable path to account success.
  • Generate and execute on multiple lines of effort to expand existing and new engagements within the target DoD accounts.
  • Bring together your network, the company's network, and other resources to generate new business opportunities.
  • Own the entire process of sourcing, cultivating, and closing new deals, measuring success with annual revenue goals, pipeline development goals, and account progress goals. 
  • Generate use cases and data user stories, illustrating the company's value proposition through marketing and communications channels.
  • Collaborate across diverse teams and effectively communicate your vision to execute on progress goals. 


The Background Profile

  • US Citizenship
  • Active Security Clearance a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Geography, Economics, Statistics or relevant field desired
  • 5+ years experience working in or with the DoD and national security space with a focus on data analysis, population surveys, and/or information operations (e.g. PSYOP, CA, Intel, or IO)
  • Prior experience selling technology, data, or analytical services to USG customers strongly preferred
  • Experience with U.S. Federal Government contracts/contracting required
  • Background with start-ups, early-stage companies, small business environments and small team settings

  • Understanding of and prior success in navigating complex sales cycles
  • Successful in building and expanding relationships with key US government customers with assistance from other company leaders
  • Ability to partner with the account team on existing contracts and with internal subject matter experts to shape external materials, deliver custom pitches, and generate opportunities for growth within the account
  • Subscribe to the methodology that the combination of efforts is the winning recipe to account growth
  • Present ideas on how to improve and adapt the strategy over time
  • Possess a unique combination of leadership, resourcefulness, and creativity to further validate and shape the company's core offering to the unique needs of the target accounts
  • Excellent written, analytical, and oral communication skills in English
