A well-established mechanical contractor is hiring a Mechanical Project Manager to lead commercial projects across HVAC and/or plumbing scopes. You’ll own project execution from turnover through closeout—managing schedule, budget, subcontractors, vendors, and client communication to deliver profitable, high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full project lifecycle: kickoff, buyout, execution, closeout, and warranty transition
- Own job cost control: budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and margin protection
- Lead procurement and buyout: subcontractor scopes, vendor negotiations, equipment/material lead times
- Manage change management: pricing, scope letters, change orders, and documentation
- Coordinate internal teams: preconstruction, engineering/BIM, field supervision, and service/start-up (as applicable)
- Run meetings with GCs/owners, track action items, and maintain strong client relationships
- Oversee project documentation: submittals, RFIs, pay apps, schedules, and closeout deliverables
- Support field teams with planning, sequencing, and issue resolution
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, contract requirements, and quality expectations

- Healthcare, education, industrial, data centers, and multifamily (depending on portfolio)
- Design-build and plan/spec work (as applicable)
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years mechanical construction PM experience (HVAC and/or plumbing)
- Proven track record managing multiple projects and meeting schedule/budget commitments
- Strong understanding of plans/specs, MEP coordination, and field execution workflows
- Experience with job cost reporting, forecasting, and change order management
- Proficiency with tools like Procore, Bluebeam, Excel, and scheduling software (MS Project/Primavera a plus)
- Strong communication skills with GCs, owners, vendors, and internal teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with design-build and preconstruction budgeting
- Familiarity with BIM/VDC coordination
- OSHA 30, PMP, or similar credentials (nice-to-have)
- Experience managing $2M–$25M+ mechanical scopes (or similar complexity)
