Job Title: Accountant/Bookkeeper – Family Office

Location: Los Angeles or PST Time Zone (2-3 days in office)

Job Type: Full-time


About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper to manage the personal finances of a high-net-worth family office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and tax planning while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with all applicable regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting and financial transactions related to personal finances, investments, trusts, and family-owned entities.
  • Oversee financial reporting, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analysis.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and expense tracking for household operations, investments, and philanthropic activities.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, investment statements, credit card transactions, and other financial accounts.
  • Coordinate tax planning and preparation with external tax advisors to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategies.
  • Handle payroll processing and expense reimbursements for household staff and personal employees.
  • Manage and oversee vendor payments, insurance policies, and loan obligations.
  • Ensure proper internal controls and safeguard financial assets of the family office.
  • Assist with estate planning, trust administration, and financial structuring as needed.
  • Provide strategic financial recommendations and insights to the family and senior leadership.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CFA preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a family office, private wealth management, or high-net-worth individual finance management.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial planning principles.
  • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and financial management tools.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
