Account Director - B2B Technology PR


Location: New York, NY


Hybrid Schedule: 3 days per week in the New York office


About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Account Director to lead strategic communications programs for a portfolio of innovative B2B technology clients. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment, enjoys building strong client relationships, and has a passion for technology, storytelling, and earned media.


Responsibilities


- Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of B2B technology clients.

- Lead integrated public relations campaigns from strategy through execution.

- Build trusted client relationships while providing strategic counsel and day-to-day account leadership.

- Develop communications strategies, messaging, media plans, and thought leadership initiatives.

- Drive media relations efforts and secure meaningful coverage across business, technology, and trade publications.

- Manage multiple client accounts, project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.

- Collaborate with internal creative, digital, content, and social teams to execute integrated campaigns.

- Prepare client presentations, campaign reports, and strategic recommendations.

- Mentor and support junior team members while ensuring high-quality client deliverables.

- Stay informed on emerging technology trends and the evolving media landscape.


Qualifications


- 6+ years of public relations experience within an agency environment.

- Current Account Director or Senior Account Director at a public relations agency preferred.

- Strong experience managing B2B technology clients.

- Proven success leading client relationships and managing multiple accounts simultaneously.

- Strong media relations experience with business, technology, and trade publications.

- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

- Strong project management and organizational skills.

- Experience mentoring junior team members.


Preferred Experience


- Experience working with SaaS, AI, cybersecurity, cloud computing, enterprise software, fintech, or other B2B technology companies.

- Experience leading integrated communications campaigns that include earned media, executive thought leadership, content development, and social media.

- New business or business development experience is a plus.
