Senior PostgreSQL DBA

Costa Rica - Remote

What we are looking for in a PostgreSQL DBA candidate:

• Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in databases architecting and leading roles
• Experience with PostgreSQL preferably with Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL
• Experience working with Postgres in containers and Kubernetes
• Experience with AWS, Git, Infrastructure as code
• Experience with distributed systems
• Experience in database concepts of sharding and good to have experience with tools like citus and patroni
• Have previously worked and shown proactiveness in suggesting database improvements and is a self learner
• Is data and metrics driven to improve and optimize databases
• Well familiar with industry wide data protection and security practices
• Working experience on query threats and sanitizing the databases
• Demonstrated experience being responsible for Postgres DBs under heavy load
• Develop process for optimizing database security and performance
• Manage database access
• Set and maintain database standards
• Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors
• Manage database monitoring and observability dashboards
• Ethically handle private data, including compliance with HIPAA
