Our client, an esteemed global law firm, is seeking an experienced legal docketing professional to join their team. This position involves managing critical court deadlines, tracking legal filings, and updating calendaring systems across multiple jurisdictions, with a focus on Texas court experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update court calendars and litigation timelines using legal docketing tools
- Input and monitor court deadlines for federal and state cases
- Process incoming filings and legal documentation
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure accuracy of calendar entries
- Use firm systems to onboard new legal matters
- Generate, review, and distribute reports from calendaring software
- Respond promptly and precisely to internal inquiries
- Stay up-to-date with legal procedural rules and firm protocols
- Uphold data confidentiality and ensure information integrity
- Perform various clerical and administrative tasks as assigned
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in state and federal electronic and traditional filing systems
- Solid understanding of court rules and litigation procedures
- Experienced with legal calendaring systems
- Familiarity with PACER, PacerPro, and related legal research tools
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Able to manage concurrent assignments and prioritize effectively
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication abilities
- Comfortable working independently and under pressure
- Technologically adept (Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn new systems)
- Maintains confidentiality and sound judgment
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least five years of relevant experience in docketing or legal calendaring
