About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join a collaborative and supportive litigation team in Chattanooga. This role focuses on general labor and employment litigation and offers hands-on experience supporting attorneys in a busy litigation department. The ideal candidate is confident, detail-oriented, and comfortable asking questions to ensure tasks are handled accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings
- Organize and maintain discovery documents, exhibits, case notebooks, and deposition summaries
- Manage filing and recording of documents with courts and other official entities
- Maintain client files, emails, and electronic workspaces
- Support trial preparation, including exhibit binders and case management tasks
- Utilize litigation support software and case management systems
- Assist with document production and e-discovery processes
- Collect and manage electronic and hard copy evidence
- Ensure compliance with legal procedures and e-discovery requirements
- Perform additional tasks as needed to support the litigation team
Qualifications
- Paralegal certification from an accredited program highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3–5+ years of experience with general litigation; firm is not looking for domestic, criminal, personal injury, or medical malpractice backgrounds
- Drafting of legal documents, correspondence, memos, etc.
- Drafting various pleadings and incorporation of documents
- Trial preparation to include organizing discovery documents, preparing exhibits, bates labeling, organization of client files, etc.
- Filing and recording documents with the appropriate offices/courts
- Maintaining client documents and emails in client workspaces
- Preparation of case notebooks and deposition summaries
- Ability to utilize computer programs designed for case management
- Manages litigation support and information management systems; compliant with ediscovery rules and regulations
- Manages document production process – hard copy, electronic, etc.
- Assists with the collection of materials, hard copy, electronic data and physical evidence
- Designs and implements document review systems, tracks materials through the process
- Manages logistics of production of documents – hard copy & images
- Makes relevant documents and information quickly and easily available
- Designs and manages databases (e.g. Relativity and Trial Director 360)
- Other duties as assigned
