Trademark Docketing Clerk to support our client’s Intellectual Property team by managing and maintaining accurate records of trademark filings, deadlines, and related correspondence. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with global IP regulations and timely prosecution of IP assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter and update trademark records in the IP docketing system (CPI preferred but experience with Foundation IP, Anaqua, etc. also helpful).
- Monitor and track deadlines for filings, office actions, renewals, and other IP-related events.
- Generate docket reports and ensure timely reminders are sent to attorneys and stakeholders.
- Review and process incoming correspondence from patent and trademark offices, law firms, and internal teams.
- Upload and organize documents in the IP management system.
- Ensure all docket entries comply with internal protocols and external regulatory requirements.
- Perform regular audits of docketing data to maintain accuracy and completeness.
- Liaise with internal legal counsel and other legal professionals to clarify deadlines and requirements.
- Assist with IP filings and formalities as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2–3 years of experience in IP docketing or legal administrative support, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Familiarity with USPTO, WIPO, and other international IP offices.
- Proficiency in IP docketing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Required Skills:
- Experience with global IP portfolios.
- Knowledge of trademark prosecution processes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with litigation docketing a plus.
