A well-established defense litigation firm is seeking a skilled Litigation Associate with 3–4+ years of medical malpractice defense experience to join its Altamonte Springs office. The ideal candidate will have hands-on litigation experience, strong writing abilities, and a thorough understanding of Florida’s Medical Malpractice Act. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking a long-term role within a collaborative, team-centered environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare high-quality pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and provide detailed written analysis.
  • Draft timely status reports to insurance carriers and clients outlining case progress, strategy, and upcoming activities.
  • Attend depositions, mediations, hearings, and related proceedings.
  • Manage and track billable time in accordance with client and firm requirements.
  • Navigate and apply the Florida Medical Malpractice Act and associated procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with partners, clients, and team members to advance case strategy and outcomes.
  • Utilize the firm’s technology, case management systems, and litigation support tools effectively.

 

Requirements

  • 3–4+ years of medical malpractice defense experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the Florida Medical Malpractice Act.
  • Active member of the Florida Bar in good standing.
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Motivated, assertive, and able to manage cases efficiently with strong work ethic.
  • Personable, professional, and capable of thriving in a team-oriented environment.
  • Technologically confident; comfortable with case management systems and legal technology.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clients, experts, and colleagues.
