LOCATION: Mesa, AZ

SALARY/PAYRATE: $150,000–$175,000 DOE

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Primarily onsite. The firm strongly prefers an attorney willing to work in the office regularly.

TERM: Full-Time, Direct Hire

BACHELOR'S DEGREE REQUIRED: JD required; active Arizona bar license mandatory.

JOB DESCRIPTION – 

Our Client is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join an established, mid-sized law firm in Mesa, Arizona. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled litigator who is confident independently managing cases and interested in expanding their experience in commercial litigation. While commercial litigation experience is preferred, it is not required. The firm welcomes attorneys with strong backgrounds in general civil litigation, personal injury, insurance defense, employment litigation, and other litigation practice areas. The ideal candidate will have substantial hands-on litigation experience, including depositions, hearings, motion practice, and trial experience. Candidates should be comfortable independently managing litigation matters with minimal supervision. The firm offers a competitive base salary of $150,000–$175,000, a 1,800-hour annual billable goal, and opportunities for professional advancement, including a potential shareholder track. 

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage litigation matters from initial case evaluation through resolution.
• Develop and implement effective litigation strategies.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Draft and argue dispositive and procedural motions.
• Manage discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Represent clients in court hearings, conferences, and trials.
• Prepare witnesses, exhibits, and evidence for trial.
• Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case developments and litigation strategies.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to ensure efficient case management.
• Monitor deadlines and maintain accurate, organized case files.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Arizona required.
• Strong background in civil litigation with the ability to independently manage cases.
• Previous trial experience.
• Experience conducting depositions, handling hearings, and drafting and arguing motions.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational and case management abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach.
• Willingness to work primarily onsite in Mesa, Arizona.
• Commercial litigation experience is preferred but not required. Attorneys with substantial experience in other litigation practice areas are encouraged to apply.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $150,000–$175,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
• Annual Billable Goal: 1,800 hours.
