Job Title: Legal Assistant

Location: Dallas, TX 75201

Salary/Payrate: $80K-$85K annually and AWESOME benefits!!!

Work Environment: 4 days ONSITE/1 day REMOTE (After 90 day training period)

Term: Permanent/Fulltime

Bachelor’s degree required: NO

Referral Fee: AMS will pay $500 should the person you refer gets hired

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Our client is seeking a full-time legal assistant located in Dallas to join their team. This position will be responsible for performing a variety of legal administrative tasks to support their attorneys. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, be well organized, and highly motivated.

 


Key Responsibilities

  • Answers and directs telephone calls promptly, taking messages and following up when necessary
  • Prepares and tracks packages and mail sent using best delivery method
  • Calendars applicable deadlines and monitors all attorney calendars daily, while keeping up to date with upcoming deadlines
  • Provides files and other materials necessary for any attorney meetings, court appearances, etc.
  • Initiates communication with attorneys regarding due date(s) for important assignment(s) and when such assignments will be completed
  • Files documents and ensures that all filing is up-to-date and in the appropriate placement
  • Assists with document production and files documents with federal and state courts as requested
  • Downloads filed documents and exhibits and timely saves them to our client's document management system
  • Creates templates, table of authority/contents upon request
  • Coordinates all arrangements for attorney travel (when necessary)
  • Prepare and submit expense reports for attorneys
  • Assists with billing tasks, including prebill edits
  • Inputs time as necessary, with accuracy, and within set deadlines
  • Accurately and timely prepares binders for interviews, depositions, hearings, and trial
  • Undertakes file management - opening, closing, and retrieval of client files and highly confidential case files under supervision of an attorney
  • Prepares formal correspondence and letters on Firm letterhead
  • Manages multiple priorities and meets deadlines
  • Coordinates conference registrations on as-needed basis



 

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a legal assistant or executive assistant role
  • Working knowledge of: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
