Job Description:

Medical Malpractice Paralegal (Defense)

Atlanta, GA (Brookhaven area, fully onsite)

Billable requirement: 120 hours per month (approx. 6 hours per day)

A well-established litigation firm in Atlanta is seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Paralegal to support a busy team of attorneys in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This is a hands-on role for someone who can think critically, stay organized under pressure, and take ownership of their cases from day one.

If you are someone who doesn’t wait to be told what to do, knows how to prioritize when everything feels urgent, and can connect the dots within complex medical records, this could be a strong fit.

Please Note: Experience independently tracking and billing time for work performed is required.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support a team of attorneys with medical malpractice litigation matters from intake through resolution
  • Review, analyze, and organize medical records to identify key details and case direction
  • Coordinate with medical professionals, including nurses, to support case development
  • Manage case files, track deadlines, and maintain detailed logs and follow-ups
  • Assist with document production, including redactions and Bates numbering
  • Prepare and organize materials for discovery and trial
  • Handle shifting priorities and urgent requests in a high-demand environment
  • Accurately track and bill time throughout the day across multiple tasks

What They’re Looking For

  • Prior experience as a litigation paralegal, with medical malpractice strongly preferred
  • Ability to independently review records and understand what is happening in a case
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable supporting multiple attorneys at once

The benefits package is where this role really stands out:

  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees
  • 50% employer contribution toward dependent coverage
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Long-term disability coverage
  • Consistent, stable work environment with strong internal support
