Overview

The Associate Director, Commercial Applications is a high-impact individual contributor responsible for providing strategic expertise and hands-on oversight for the implementation, integration, and maintenance of Commercial Applications across the US Solid Tumor and Hematology franchises, as well as future therapeutic indications.


This role leads all aspects of system process integration, vendor management, and technical deployment support. Acting as a crucial bridge between commercial strategy and technical execution, the successful candidate ensures that technology platforms optimally support field forces, marketing teams, and cross-functional partners. This role will report to the AVP, Commercial Excellence.


Responsibilities:


Strategic Technology Management & Implementation

  • Solution Architecture: Assess evolving business needs to proactively drive analytics and technology solutions on behalf of the Commercial organization, ensuring absolute alignment with both internal and external partners.
  • System Transitions: Provide deep subject matter expertise to configure Veeva Vault applications (CRM, PromoMats, MedComms, Link); successfully manage the platform transition from Salesforce.com to Veeva Vault and take full ownership from transition teams or third-party consultants.
  • Data & System Integration: Develop and manage robust data integration workflows connecting Veeva platforms with critical data architecture, including Commercial Data Warehouses (Azure, Snowflake, Databricks), Master Data Management (Reltio), Concur, OneKey, Speaker Programs, and external data assets.
  • Omni-Channel Execution: Lead the integration of digital automation initiatives, ensuring Omni-Channel Marketing efforts are seamlessly aligned and embedded within CRM systems.


Operations & Platform Administration

  • Core Administration: Act as the primary administrator for various Veeva applications and modules, managing routine and customized enhancements.
  • Periodic Commercial Processes: Own and execute periodic operational processes, including territory alignments, targeting, call plans, salesforce sizing modifications, field surveys, Veeva Suggestions, and custom report building.
  • Quality Assurance & Governance: Oversee all Quality Assurance (QA) testing associated with application updates and ensure all deployed solutions comply fully with industry regulations and internal policies.
  • Agile Lifecycle Delivery: Apply a disciplined approach to the agile development lifecycle, executing seamlessly across development, testing, deployment, and performance monitoring phases.


Cross-Functional Collaboration & Training

  • Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams—including Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, PRC Administration, and Market Access (Oncology Access Directors)—to deliver comprehensive, unified technology solutions.
  • Field Empowerment: Design and deliver comprehensive Veeva platform training and support to empower field users and drive optimal system adoption.
  • Vendor & Partner Management: Act as a motivated self-starter and project lead, directing third-party consultants and vendors throughout the implementation and maintenance phases.


Qualifications:

  • Education: BA/BS degree in a relevant field is required; a Master’s degree is considered a strong plus.
  • Industry Experience: 8–10 years of progressive experience within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, specifically within a Commercial role (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations, or Commercial IT)
  • Veeva Expertise: Demonstrated hands-on experience across the Veeva ecosystem, including Veeva CRM, Veeva Vault (PromoMats, MedComms), Veeva Network, Approved Emails, and CLM.


Core Competencies & Skills:

  • Business Process Knowledge: Deep familiarity with Life Sciences Commercial Business Processes, including Customer Engagement, Territory Alignment, Targeting/Segmentation, Incentive Compensation, and Marketing Operations.
  • Technical Acumen: Functional understanding of modern data ecosystems (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure) and MDM platforms (Reltio).
  • Communication & Leadership: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead, influence, and guide internal customers and cross-functional stakeholders through complex technology rollouts.


Work Location: Minimum of three days in Bridgewater, NJ (Hybrid role)
