Director of Purchasing & Sourcing

Location: Valencia, CA | On-site

A consumer products company is seeking a hands-on Director of Purchasing & Sourcing to lead global procurement across raw materials, components, and finished goods. This leader will strengthen international supplier partnerships while improving cost, quality, and supply reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a global sourcing strategy aligned with product plans and financial goals.
• Identify, qualify, and manage manufacturing partners across international markets.
• Lead supplier negotiations, contracts, performance reviews, and factory assessments.
• Deliver cost savings while protecting product quality and continuity of supply.
• Partner with product development, quality, planning, and logistics teams on new products and delivery needs.
• Lead the purchasing team and use ERP data to track supplier performance, lead times, and spend.
• Maintain ethical sourcing practices and compliance with applicable trade requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, operations, or a related field; advanced degree or supply chain certification preferred.
• At least 10 years of procurement and sourcing experience, including five years in senior leadership.
• Experience with global manufacturing partners, particularly in Asia.
• Background in apparel, safety products, consumer goods, or related manufacturing preferred.
• Strong negotiation, financial, team leadership, and ERP skills.
• Ability to travel internationally.
