Detailed Job Description:

Individuals in this position are responsible for planning, organizing, and performing detailed process

design with capability to manage multidiscipline engineering activities. This position does not require

administrative direction from the division manager. Capable for the process design of multiple complex

projects and managing the design efforts of multidiscipline projects. Prepare, critique and approve

engineering studies, analysis of systems, preliminary and detailed engineering designs. Develop and

approve engineering specifications and project cost estimates. Direct and review work of project design

team, check progress of work and alert managers to change of scope and additional services.

Coordinate all aspects of project document completion. Direct CAD designers for the preparation of

construction drawings. Possess ability to interpret applicable codes. Independently work with code

officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to codes is required. Lead

multi-discipline projects and coordinate design with other engineering disciplines.


Qualifications:

• Minimum of fifteen (15) years of design experience creating construction documents for industrial,

power, oil & gas, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, food & beverage facilities with significant expertise in

more than one of the core industries served by our client.

• Experience preparing, reviewing and approving PFD’s, P&ID’s, piping orthographic and isometric

drawings, bill of materials, equipment and piping specifications.

• Working knowledge of control valve and flow meter sizing and selection and approval

• Working knowledge of process controls

• Thorough understanding of piping flexibility and stress analysis

• Working knowledge of ASME BPVC, Division 1

• Working knowledge of API standards – 521, 620, 650, 653, 2000

• Working knowledge of piping codes - ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.5 and B31.8

• Working knowledge of NFPA fire codes (NFPA 30 mandatory)

• Working knowledge of pressure drop calculations for incompressible and compressible fluids

• Reviewer and approver of equipment and piping specifications, pressure relief device sizing, pump and

other process equipment selections

• Working knowledge of electrical area classification – NFPA 497, API RP 500

• Working knowledge of IBC building code

• Working knowledge of AISC structural code


Candidates must have experience with the following software:

• Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project

• AutoCAD (ability to open drawings, navigate, edit text, and print)
