Job Title: Fleet Manager

Reports To: Operations Manager / General Manager

Position Overview:

The Fleet Manager will oversee the management, maintenance, and logistics of a fleet of heavy equipment and vehicles for a leading heavy civil construction contractor. This role ensures the company's equipment is safe, reliable, and operating at peak efficiency while maintaining cost controls and minimizing downtime.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the scheduling and execution of preventative maintenance, repairs, and inspections for all fleet vehicles and heavy equipment.
  • Oversee equipment inventory, tracking, and allocation to projects as needed.
  • Implement cost-control strategies to optimize fleet operations and reduce expenses.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure timely delivery and readiness of equipment.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships for parts, service contracts, and equipment purchases.
  • Monitor fleet performance, usage data, and compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards to minimize risk and promote a safe working environment.


Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in fleet management, preferably within heavy civil construction or a similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of heavy machinery maintenance, operations, and logistics.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software and tools.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, analyze costs, and develop solutions to improve operational efficiency.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between job sites as needed.
