Executive Sous Chef / Operations Manager – Premium Culinary Startup

Revolutionize Prepared Dining | El Segundo, CA

Our client is a high-growth, healthy meal subscription service that provides "Better Than Restaurant Quality" food to a dedicated, growing clientele. We are seeking a professionally mature Executive Sous Chef/Operations Manager to lead kitchen operations/execution and partner with the Founder/Executive Chef to free them up to focus on expansion.

Why This is the Best Move for Your Career:

  • Elite Quality & Creative Freedom: You will work with a chef-driven, globally inspired menu that changes every week. This is a high-touch environment using premium ingredients like grass-fed beef, Alaskan halibut, and direct sourcing from local Farmers Markets.
  • True Work-Life Balance: Say goodbye to the industry grind. This role offers daytime hours only with no late nights. We currently operate on a Tuesday–Saturday schedule and are moving to Monday–Friday.
  • Ground Floor Opportunity: This is a pivotal hire. As the company scales and secures funding, you have a clear path to becoming VP of Operations with potential for equity/shares.
  • Culture Over Corporate: The kitchen vibe is fun, high-energy, and collaborative—we listen to music, avoid "clipboard management," and value leaders who are physically agile and lead by example.

The Role:

As the "Lead Operator," you will own the kitchen. While the Executive Chef focuses on flavor, fundraising, and expansion, you will command the team, manage high-volume batch cooking and plating, and oversee cost controls and inventory.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience: Proven Sous or Executive Sous Chef experience in high-quality, high-volume environments such as fine dining, high-end catering, or luxury hotels.
  • Mindset: An "Operator First" mentality with zero ego. You should be a smart leader who aligns with a clean, healthy cooking culture.
  • Skills: Strong command of kitchen logistics, including ordering, staffing, and P&L management.

Compensation & Perks:

  • Salary: $85,000 – $90,000.
  • Bonuses: Potential signing bonus after a 6-month probation period.
  • Extra Income: Opportunities to earn $400–$500 per event assisting with private catering.

Ready to lead a kitchen that values your craft AND your time?
