We are working with a premier family-focused resort nestled in the beautiful Western North Carolina mountains. We are seeking an experienced and talented Chef De Cuisine to join our culinary team for 10 months of operations, with 2 months off to travel and recharge your batteries. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional guest experiences, exquisite fine dining, and top-notch banquets for our discerning clientele. The property will have culinary gardens and forage the surrounding mountain for ingredients. Responsibilities:

• Assist the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, including menu development, food quality control, and staff supervision
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of innovative, high-quality dishes for our fine dining restaurant and banquet events
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create and execute seasonal menus, ensuring the use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and supportive work environment
• Maintain the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in all kitchen areas
• Collaborate with the banquet team to plan and execute seamless events, ensuring guest satisfaction and efficient kitchen operations
• Monitor food and labor costs, adhering to budgetary guidelines
• Represent the resort in a professional and positive manner, maintaining excellent relationships with guests, vendors, and staff

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a fine dining establishment, with at least two years in a leadership role
• Proven expertise in banquet operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and event execution
• Culinary degree from an accredited institution preferred
• Strong knowledge of modern and classic culinary techniques, with a focus on regional and seasonal ingredients
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented, with a commitment to excellence
