Senior Executive Leadership Opportunity in the Audiovisual Sector

Our client is a nationally recognized organization operating within Canada's audiovisual sector. Working at the intersection of creativity, public interest, and industry development, the organization engages with stakeholders across the country and plays an important role in supporting a dynamic and evolving ecosystem.

The organization is seeking an accomplished executive to help lead its next chapter. This individual will join at an important moment for both the organization and the broader sector, as technological change, evolving audience behaviours, shifting business models, and increasing stakeholder expectations continue to reshape the environment in which it operates.

This is a role for a leader who is comfortable with complexity. The successful candidate will operate in an environment where creative ambition, organizational priorities, stakeholder expectations, and long-term sustainability must be thoughtfully balanced. They will bring strong judgment, strategic perspective, and a collaborative leadership style, together with an ability to build trust across diverse communities and constituencies.

The successful candidate will contribute to organizational leadership, help shape strategic priorities, support important initiatives, and foster relationships across a broad range of stakeholders. Success in the role will depend upon an ability to navigate ambiguity, facilitate productive dialogue, and create alignment in situations where competing perspectives and interests are often present.

The organization is seeking an individual who combines strategic capability with strong interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be comfortable engaging with complex issues, leading through change, and supporting thoughtful decision-making in an environment where credibility, collaboration, and sound judgment are essential.

Qualifications

Among the qualifications being sought, the successful candidate will demonstrate a leadership approach grounded in integrity, emotional intelligence, curiosity, and respect for diverse perspectives. They will be recognized as a thoughtful and collaborative leader who is capable of building confidence, fostering constructive dialogue, and guiding organizations through periods of change and complexity.

While all candidates are encouraged to apply and share how they would contribute to the organization, the following qualifications and experiences are considered strong indicators of success: A) Significant senior leadership experience within the film, television, media, cultural, creative, or related sectors, including experience operating within complex, multi-stakeholder environments; B) Demonstrated understanding of feature film financing, production, distribution, marketing, audience development, and the broader Canadian and international screen-based industries, combined with the ability to identify emerging trends and opportunities; C) Experience leading strategic planning initiatives, managing substantial budgets, evaluating investment opportunities, and making decisions informed by both qualitative and quantitative analysis; D) An ability to build trusted relationships with creators, producers, industry partners, government stakeholders, funding bodies, and community representatives while navigating competing priorities with diplomacy and sound judgment; and E) Exceptional communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills, coupled with the capacity to influence, inspire, and collaborate across diverse perspectives and regions. A competitive executive compensation package will be provided, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
