We are looking for a Design Engineering Manager to lead and support the design engineering team. The successful candidate will oversee technical inputs for proposals, new product development, and continuous improvement projects. The Engineering Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful design, development, and launch of new products, while actively participating in problem-solving and process improvement initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Proposal Support: Generate required technical inputs for proposals, including Technical Volume, data deliverable definitions, engineering basis of estimates, and other technical support for NPD Program Management, Applications Engineering, and Business Development.

Sales Order Kick-Off (SOKO): Participate in SOKO meetings, thoroughly reviewing proposed vs. contracted engineering requirements. Close any requirement gaps identified during the SOKO meeting in accordance with the proposed product development phase and contract definition.

New Product Development: Provide support in generating and maintaining technical design data and documentation, tailoring pathfinder/prototype performance, and resolving issues related to manufacturing, inspection, testing setup, and processes.

Sales Order Close Out (SOCO): Actively participate in SOCO meetings, documenting technical lessons learned and driving corrections or improvements for future contracts.

Technical Point of Contact: Serve as the technical point of contact for assigned engineering-related efforts in new product development projects, including design creation, documentation, manufacturing, and test support.

Qualification/Production Launch: Resolve issues related to the transition from qualification to production launch for new products.

Problem Solving: Participate in team activities addressing anomalies during development, production, and testing, as well as customer complaints or field returns.

Cost Reduction Projects: Support new product design-related tasks for cost reduction projects, including Production Preparation Process (3P) and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) projects.

Continuous Improvement: Provide requested support for continuous improvement activities.
BACKGROUND PROFILE:
- B.S. degree in Engineering or relevant technical equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of DOE, DFMA, FMEA, Failure Analysis, or similar tools preferred.
- Proficiency in engineering drawings, GD&T, lean practices, and associated business tools.
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar solid modeling software.
- Fundamental engineering analysis capability, with knowledge of finite element analysis (e.g., SolidWorks Simulation and/or ANSYS) being a plus.
- Familiarity with military and/or aerospace design and development requirements is advantageous.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of Access, Visio, and Project is a plus.
- Ability to communicate technical knowledge clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills to promote effective interaction with staff, customers, and suppliers.
