Role Overview

We are looking for a Founding Engineer to join our client’s innovative team—someone driven by ownership and eager to build solutions from the ground up. The ideal candidate will be a versatile full-stack engineer with the skills to contribute to front-end and back-end development. This is a unique chance to shape the architecture of a transformative platform, influence technology choices, and leave a lasting impact on the company and industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop responsive, high-performance, well-architected web applications using modern full-stack techniques.
  • Take ownership of UI/UX design and implementation to deliver exceptional user experiences.
  • Leverage expertise in React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS to create optimized front-end solutions.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable APIs that can handle high volumes of data efficiently and reliably.
  • Utilize both SQL and NoSQL databases to ensure robust data management and performance.
  • Participate in architecture and code reviews, promoting best practices and standards.
  • Address security vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to iterate on solutions and provide meaningful results.
  • Understand and empathize with end-users to balance experience with engineering constraints.


Qualifications

  • Experience: 2-5 years as a software engineer, with a preference for those who have led projects from inception to launch.
  • Backend Expertise: Proficiency in modern server-side languages such as JavaScript, Golang, Ruby, or Rust.
  • Frontend Expertise: Mastery of React, Next.js, TypeScript, and UI/UX best practices.
  • Databases: Strong knowledge of relational databases, NoSQL, and SQL.
  • Linux Systems: Professional experience working with Linux systems and tools.
  • Compliance: Experience building systems in regulated environments, such as HIPAA-compliant systems, or handling sensitive data securely.
  • Optimization: Proficient in profiling, debugging, performance optimization, and testing.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to take initiative.
  • Preferred Education: CS degree or equivalent from top universities (MIT, Stanford, Ivies).

  • You are adaptable and willing to contribute extra effort when needed, including working extended hours and weekends.
  • You have less than 2 years of experience at large companies like Google, Meta, or similar, preferring the hands-on, high-impact environment of startups.
